Hundreds of women from the US entertainment industry including actors, directors and lawyers have launched a campaign tocombat sexual harassment in the workplace. The campaign called "Time'sUp" includes Hollywood stars such as Cate Blanchatt, America Ferrera, EvaLongoria and Natalie Portman. Here is Peter Burds. The times of the movementjust formed after the deluge of allegations last year that destructed or endedthe careers of several prominent and influential men in the entertainmentbusiness. In an open letter the group says, harassment too often proceedsbecause perpetrators and employers never face any consequences. It urges themedia to turn the spotlight on abuses in what described as less glamorizedtrades. It also calls on women to wear black in the Golden Globe Award nextSunday as a statement against gender and racial inequality.
The depute leader of Norway's oppositionLabor Party, Trond Giske, has agreed to temporally stand down from his postfollowing allegation of sexual harassment. The Party said Mr. Giske has beensuspended for an indefinite period. Several women have accused him of unwantedencounters of a sexual nature.
Protesters in Iran have attacked policestation late in the night, as security force struggled to contain a biggestchallenge to the country's clerical leadership since 2009. Social media videoshave shown demonstrators trying to occupy police station in a central town ofQahderijan. Early the authority said the policemen have been shot dead inNajafabad. The fifth day of protests in Iran. Onceagain thousands of people have taken to the streets. They are angry atunemployment, rising prices and what many seemed is widespread corruption. It'sthe boldest challenge to the country's leadership in nearly a decade. Thedemonstrations began in the northwestern city of Mashhad, a key base forPresident Rouhani's most outspoken critics and has quickly turned into a widespread anti-establishment movement.
